The Muhlenberg women's basketball played nationally ranked DeSales to a standstill in the first half before eventually falling, 64-52.

Freshman Jaelyn Swann had a breakout game for the Mules, scoring 13 points.

The Bulldogs (4-0), ranked 13th in the D3hoops.com preseason poll, led 13-3 midway through the first quarter, but with Swann scoring five points and sophomore Margaux Eripret four, the Mules (1-2) closed to within three by the end of the quarter.

Sophomore Mikaela McGarvey opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to tie the game, and a three in transition by senior Emily O'Mahoney gave Muhlenberg a 20-17 lead.

DeSales scored the first five points of the second half to break a 26-all tie and stayed on top the rest of the game. The Mules cut an 11-point lead to five in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs put the game away with seven foul shots in the final 22 seconds.

Muhlenberg held DeSales to 25.0-percent shooting for the game.
