Men's Soccer Drops Double-OT Heartbreaker to No. 2 F&M

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 double-overtime heartbreaker to No. 2 Franklin & Marshall at the college's turf field on Tuesday night, Sept. 15.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In a rematch of the teams' 2019 NCAA Tournament First Round contest, Penn State Harrisburg and nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall turned in a performance befitting of two of the top programs in the region on Tuesday night.

The Lions (2-1) were whistled for a handball in the box with 40 seconds remaining in the second overtime period and the No. 2-ranked Diplomats (4-0) converted the ensuing penalty kick to hand the home team its first loss of the season.

Less than seven minutes earlier, the Blue & White appeared to have netted the game winner thanks to a header from point-blank range off a rebound in the F&M box but it was ultimately waived off and deemed a foul in the 103rd minute.
