SWARTHMORE, Pa.—No. 25 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis rolled to an 8-1 win over the Ursinus College Bears at home on Wednesday.
The Garnet won every match save second singles which ended up going to a super tiebreaker.
The Garnet cruised through doubles action, only dropping four total sets.
Christina Wang and
Elise Talley claimed the top match 8-2. In second doubles,
Emma Kassan and
Audrey Haring combined for an 8-1 win.
Arya Jemal and
Shivani Gupta collaborated for an 8-1 win in third doubles.
Kassan rolled to another win in first singles, 6-0, 6-1. Wang's second singles match was tight. She took the first set 6-4 but fell in the second set and then the breaker.
Shirline Wee and
Grace Dignazio just played singles and got a 6-4, 6-4 win in third singles and 6-0, 6-2 win in fifth singles. Haring collected her second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 rout in fourth singles.
Arya Jemal bageled her opponent in sixth singles 6-0, 6-0.
Swarthmore, now 6-4 this season and 2-1 in Centennial action, competes at Gettysburg on Friday.
