The Muhlenberg men's soccer team scored three second-half goals en route to defeating Misericordia, 4-1.
The Mules (6-1-1), ranked seventh in the Mid-Atlantic Region, rebounded from their first loss of the season and continued their scoring surge. They have scored a Centennial Conference-leading 27 goals, their most through eight games since 1995.
Sophomore
Phillip Bell opened the scoring by netting his first career goal just 3:19 into the game. The goal came off a corner kick by freshman
Chris Richards that was tapped back by freshman
Taylan Akdag.
The Cougars (2-4-2) took advantage of a misplay in the back to knot the game 10 minutes later.
The game remained tied until early in the second half, when sophomore
Stephen Carton untied it by ripping a shot into the upper 90 from the top of the box. Carton has scored a goal in four straight games and is the third Mule (along with Richards and senior
Kevin Hagan) to reach double figures in points this season.
Sophomore
Noam Davidov put the icing on the cake by scoring a pair of goals in a span of less than six minutes late in the game.
Freshman
Justin Siegel made his first career start in goal and earned the win, making three saves.
