In not only the first game of 2019, but the first-ever meeting between Muhlenberg and Juniata in women's soccer, the Mules dominated play en route to a 2-0 victory.
 
The first goal of 2019 came off the foot of junior Mia Mulin in the 58th minute when she dribbled to the top of the box before scoring to the left side of the goal. Just over 10 minutes later, a corner kick from junior Isabel Schwartz glanced off both freshman Noemi Di Cori and the Eagles' goalkeeper before sophomore Cece Peden (pictured above) finished from just outside of the six-yard box for the first goal of her career.
 
Muhlenberg had a couple of early chances to get on the board. The first came in the 12th minute when Di Cori sent a through ball to Schwartz inside the box for a clean look. In the 23rd minute, Mulin fired back-to-back shots from the right side of the net but had both attempts blocked before barely missing the right post in the 33rd minute.
 
Every healthy Mule played with 14 different players registering a shot. Of those 14, 10 put at least one shot on target.
 
Senior Libby Juliano and sophomore Julianna King combined for the clean sheet.
