Tigers Sweep Spring Break Competition

Orlando, FL – The Wittenberg Tiger Tennis team's set off for the USTA National Campus for their Spring Break training trip. The Tigers opened the week with matches against John Carroll University and Ursinus College. The Tiger women's team picked up two wins to start their trip, taking down John Carroll 7-2 on the first day of action. Wittenberg earned the clean sweep of Ursinus College, 9-0 on day two. On the men's side, the Tigers fell to the Blue Streaks on their first day of competition, 7-2. Wittenberg bounced back on the men's side with a commanding 6-3 win over the Bears from Ursinus.

The Tigers continued their hot streak on day two of their trip, sweeping the Bears on the double's courts. The duo of Sproule and Isaac defeated their competition from Ursinus, 8-0. The second and third doubles courts saw a little closer of a battle, with PJ Meyers and Sydney Khosla earning an 8-4 win on the second court. Sidney Purks and Meera Virk secured the sweep with an 8-5 win on the third court.

In singles competition, Isaac would go on to take the win on the first court [6-1, 6-3]. Holding her opponent scoreless in the first set, Sproule secured the second court [6-0, 6-2]. Khosla would drop just three games between her two sets, with a [6-1, 6-2] win. Purks opened up with a 6-2 win in the first set, before cleaning up with a 6-0 second set win. Meyers kept the momentum rolling at the fifth singles spot with a [6-2, 6-1] win. Claire Stechow finalized the sweep at the sixth singles spot with the [6-1, 6-3] win.
