PHILADELPHIA - Five Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field athletes competed at The Penn Relays on Friday. The annual event hosted by the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and largest track & field competition in the United States. It includes competitors from all levels in the sport.
Garnet senior
Jared Hunt broke his own school record in the outdoor shot put, launching a 15.72-meter (51 feet 6.75 inches) throw that will slot him just outside of the Top 20 shot putters in Division III. He was already ranked first in the Centennial Conference by a wide margin before improving on his distance.
The Swarthmore 4x400-meter relay team of
Judah Raab,
Justin Snyder,
Jordan Reyes and
Benjamin Hejna also competed in Philadelphia and ran the race in 3:25.60.
On Saturday the Swarthmore Track & Field teams will be in Ewing, N.J., competing at the Lion Invite hosted by The College of New Jersey.
