AMHERST, Mass.--No. 31 Swarthmore College Men's Tennis wrapped up its long road trip with an 8-1 loss at Amherst College on Sunday.
The Garnet earned their win in third doubles as
Simon Vernier and
Weiyi Zhu picked up an 8-6 victory.
John Lathrop and
Thibault Vernier fell 8-2 in top doubles, and
Jiung Jung and
Noah Criss slipped 8-5 in second dubs.
In singles action, the Garnet put up a fight but were swept. Jung dropped first singles 6-3, 6-1.
Thibault Vernier fell 6-2, 6-4 in second singles and Lathrop fell 6-2, 6-2 in third.
Simon Vernier's fourth singles match went 6-1, 6-2 in favor of his opponent. In fifth singles, Criss succumbed 6-1, 6-4.
Evan Han fell 6-1, 6-2 in sixth singles.
The Garnet return home to the friendly confines of Swarthmore for a home match on March 30 against Cabrini and will look to snap an eight match skid.
