BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team squad played outdoors for the first time in the spring 2022 season, the Greyhounds defeated rival Muhlenberg College, 9-0, in non-conference action at Howard Hoffman Courts.
How It Happened
- The Hounds swept all three doubles contests for a 3-0 edge. Freshman Anthony Ronca and Wyatt Marshall posted an 8-0 victory at second doubles to come off the courts first while freshmen Zachary Lebby and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer recorded an 8-1 triumph at third doubles to make it 2-0. Juniors Kieran Pisani and Justin Szaro finished the sweep with an 8-6 win at first doubles
- Marshall posted a quick 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles to make it 4-0 while Szaro earned the winning team points with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at second singles. Sophomore Steve Schneider was the next to finish with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles before Pisani closed out a 6-0, 6-1 victory at fourth singles. Lebby completed his third singles contest with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph while Ronca needed three sets at first singles for a 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-5) win
- The match was Moravian's third in a string of seven straight home contests to start the spring season
