The Muhlenberg men's soccer team extended its undefeated start to the season, improving to 3-0 for the first time since 2014 with a 3-0 win at Centenary.
Three different players scored goals against the Cyclones, who are one week removed from a 1-0 defeat of 12th-ranked Drew.
Junior
Matthew Athanas-Linden, the Mules' leading goal-scorer in 2017, netted his first 2018 goal midway through the first half, heading in a cross from senior
Kevin Irving. It was the seventh career goal for Athanas-LindenÂ
(pictured above). Irving has recorded a point in all three games this season.Â
Sophomore
Mark Winter made it 2-0 late in the first half with his second goal of the season, drawing the goalie out and finishing into an open net.
The final goal came off a set piece early in the second half, with Irving sending the free kick into the box. Freshman
Stephen Carton headed the ball to classmate
Josh Bordwick, who settled it and buried a shot for his first career goal.
Six different players have scored the Mules' seven goals this season.
The Muhlenberg defense allowed just one shot on goal in recording its second straight shutout.
