ELVERSON, Pa. - The Swarthmore college golf team captured first overall at the Ursinus Spring Invitational with a team score of 308 on Tuesday afternoon. The Garnet shot three strokes under second place Rosemont College as four Swarthmore golfers carded scores under 80.
Henry Lei and
Ankur Malik led the way with top-five finishes for the Garnet, while
Gyan Bains and
Chad Kemmerer posted scores in the top-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lei and Malik tied for fourth overall with a 76 (+6) to earn top-five finishes for the Garnet. Lei recorded his lowest score of the season as he took five strokes off his previous best.
- Bains and Kemmerer earned top-10 finishes as they tied for eighth overall. The duo carded a 78 (+8) on the afternoon, which marked a season-low for both golfers. Bains improved his previous best by one stroke, while Kemmerer took two strokes off his season low.

Zack Zawisny rounded out Swarthmore golfers with a score of 82 (+12). The junior tied for 26th overall.
