HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (6-3-5, 2-2-4 CC) drew level with visiting Bryn Mawr (1-10-3, 0-7-1 CC) on Wednesday afternoon at Walton Field, with Calais Irwin returning to the lineup and adding the go-ahead goal in the 48th minute of action before Bryn Mawr struck back to tie things at 1-1 in the 61st minute.

Haverford came out firing out of the gates as Liv McMillan fired two shots on frame and also hit the post in the first 38 minutes. Angie Geralis and Grace Haskell had great looks on target in the first half as well, but Haverford was unable to break through despite being on the doorstep with possession in its attacking third for much of that first half.

The Fords held an 11-3 advantage in shots in that first half, and continued that momentum well into the second stanza, earning a corner kick after a strong presence into the offensive third. McMillan sent a soaring cross into the box where Calais Irwin was able to knock home a goal to open the scoring. Irwin marked her return to the starting lineup on Wednesday after battling injury in her senior season. The contest was just her third of the 2022 campaign and the goal was the first of Irwin's career.

After a Bryn Mawr rally saw Sarah Lohrey hit the crossbar with a floating strike on goal in the 53rd minute, Keira Prince had her shot saved in the 58th. Bryn Mawr eventually found the tying goal in the 61st minute, as the ball was played downfield to Koren Woznicki, who made a one-time pass near the top of the box to Paige Mastripolito. Mastripolito slotted her shot towards the far post, tying the score at 1-1 with her fifth tally of the season.

Haverford had 10 of the final 11 shots in the contest, dominating the run of play with some solid looks on target. Alyssa Saito, Celia Page, Geralis and Grace Haskell all had a chance to give Haverford the lead, but Lucy Heyman did well to keep the Fords off the scoreboard to preserve the tie for the Owls.

Haverford held a 26-6 edge in shots, and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Heyman was a standout for the Owls, making 11 saves.

Women's Soccer now returns to action on Saturday for Senior Day on Walton Field. Action will begin at noon as the Fords matchup with Gettysburg. Before the contest, Haverford will honor its senior class of Meg Bowen, Ashley Chun, Claire Cywes, Calais Irwin, Kendall Ozorowski, Celia Page, Alana Ponte, Alyssa Saito, and April Zeng.
