EASTON, Pa. - The Swarthmore College golf team captured the team title at The Melee on Sunday afternoon. The Garnet finished three-strokes under the runner-up school with a two-round team score of 591. They also carded a second round score of 294, which marked a season best.
Neil Zhu tied for second overall individually as he carded a season-best score of 69 (-2) for the round.
Dylan Zhang also earned a top-five finish after totaling a 73 (+2) or both rounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zhu became the seventh golfer since the 1993-94 season to record a single-round score lower than 70. The freshman carded a 69 (-2) on the afternoon to finish with a two-round score of 143 (+1). Zhu recorded two birdies on the afternoon and four for the tournament.
- Zhang posted a 73 (+2) in both rounds of the tournament as he placed fifth overall with a two-round score of 146 (+4). The freshman birdied the 18th hole to bring his weekend birdie total to four.

Ben Lee shot a 75 (+4) after leading the Garnet in the opening round. Lee finished with a two-round total of 147 (+5) and ended the weekend with a team-high six birdies.

Chad Kemmerer competed as an individual, while improve his opening round total by one stroke. He shot a 76 (+5) on the afternoon with a pair of birdies. Kemmerer carded a 153 (+11) for the tournament to tie for 20th overall.

Jackson Murphy rounded out the team scorers with a second round total of 77 (+1). Murphy tied for 23th overall and took one stroke off his opening round total.
Andy Xin also competed for the Garnet, while shooting a 80 (+9) to improve his opening round tally by four strokes.
