BALTIMORE, MD – Visiting McDaniel jumped out to a 19-6 lead and eventually earned the decisive points on a win by forfeit at 285 as the Green Terror edged host Johns Hopkins, 25-24, in Centennial Conference wrestling action in Goldfarb Gymnasium Wednesday night. The win improves McDaniel's record to 9-6 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial, while the Blue Jays slip to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial.

After falling behind 6-0 on a first-period pin by Johns Hopkins freshman
Brent Lorin at 125, the Terror won the next four matches, including two by fall and one by major decision, to turn the six-point deficit into the 19-6 lead. First-period pins by Isaiah Fosque at 141 and Alexander LaVeck at 157 fueled the run for the Terror.

Johns Hopkins answered with four straight wins of its own with first-period pins from 10
th-ranked
Dominick Reyes at 165 and senior
Nathan Wertheimer at 184 sandwiched around a 7-6 win for sophomore
Joe Paul at 174; those three wins gave  the Blue Jays a 21-19 lead with two bouts remaining.

Grant Walnoha topped McDaniel freshman Nick Parsons, 7-1, to increase the Hopkins lead to 24-19, but Tony Wuest's win by forfeit at 285 sealed the one-point win for the Green Terror, who snapped a three-match losing streak to the Blue Jays with the win.
