The Short Story: Host Haverford used an early goal to defeat the 21

Â
How it Happened
• Hopkins controlled much of the play throughout the game, but it was Haverford that struck for turned out to be the game's only goal. Michael Carr passed the ball to Peter Baroff in the corner, who crossed it to Nick Jannelli in front of the goal. Jannelli took the pass and scored from about six yards out in the fourth minute.
• Just 40 seconds later, sophomore
Jonathon Brown had a good look at the equalizer, but Michael Iacono scooped it up. Senior
Gerrit Church had a great look in the 50
th minute but once again Iacono made the save.
• Sophomore
Xander LeFevre then made back-to-back saves just a minute apart to keep the deficit at one. He then made a spectacular one-handed leaping save in the 68the minute to keep Jannelli from getting his second of the game. Just over a minute later, Iacono turned away a hard shot by sophomore
Pablo Martinez.
