GETTYSBURG, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Swimming improved to 5-1 in Centennial Conference dual meet action with a 134-128 road win at Gettysburg College on Saturday.
Sophia Lee and
Liz Gallagher each brought home a pair of first-place finishes for the Garnet.
Lee won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.58 and won the critical 200 IM at the end of the meet in 2:14.61. She also collected third place in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.66). Gallagher recorded the top time in the 200 fly, 2:12.58, winning by three one-hundredths of a second, and also won the 100 fly in 1:00.22.
Swarthmore opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay as
Stephanie Tilneac,
Liz Staton,
Sophie Moody and
Anna Kottakis swam to a time of 1:51.48.
Tilneac added a first-place finish in the 100 back as well, crossing just under a minute in 59.96 seconds. Kottakis also got an individual win in the 100 free (54.42).
In the 500 free, sophomore
Hannah Kloetzer held on for first with a time of 5:18.29.
Going into the 200 IM, Swarthmore led 117-109 and fought off the Bullets by earning nine points with Lee's win and another four points from
Scout Clark's second-place finish.
The Garnet are back in action at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Dickinson.
