#19 UMW Men's Tennis Tops #32 Swarthmore, 7-2, on Saturday

The 19th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated 32nd ranked Swarthmore College, 7-2, on Saturday in Swarthmore. The Eagles improve to 11-3 on the season.

In doubles, Moses Hutchison and Andrew Watson topped Grant Dill and John Nichols-Daly, 8-3, at one, and Rishi Charan Shankar and Nick Spera defeated Noah Criss and Rushil Patel at two, 8-6. Peter Leese and Cole Tecce downed Max Pogorelov and Graham Hadesman at three, 8-1, as the Eagles continued their streak of claiming all three doubles matches.

In singles, Hutchison downed Patel at one, 6-2, 6-2, and Charan Shankar topped Jiang, 6-3, 6-2, at two. Watson stopped Nichols-Daly, 6-2, 6-1, at three, and Leese won at five over Myers-Lipton, 1-6, 7-5, 10-8.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday at Southern Virginia University at 3:00 p.m.
