Game Notes

Last Time Out

F&M wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Centennial Conference with wins against Dickinson and Bryn Mawr during the final week of the regular season. At Dickinson, the Diplomats officially secured their first round bye with an 18-12 victory. F&M held a 24-9 edge in draw controls and nearly doubled up the Red Devils in shot attempts as they raced out to an 8-2 lead after 15 minutes and never looked book. Gillian Brennan, Maddy Birch, Sydney Lowe, and Lauren Pittman all recorded hat tricks while Lydia Cassilly added two more to the winning side. Madison Bray, Lane Lambeth, and Abby Gravel also rattled the back of the cage throughout the Centennial Conference clash under the lights

Women's lacrosse closed out the regular season with a 17-1 win at Bryn Mawr. The Diplomats and Owls were tied at one-all after 15 minutes before the Diplomats ripped off 16 unanswered goals to close the regular season with a 13-4 record. Maddy Birch and Lauren Pittman led all scorers as each recorded a hat trick. Lane Lambeth and Kate McLam added multiple goals to the winning effort as 11 players finished with their names in the scoring column. F&M's goalies stopped six of the seven shots on goal they faced. Alyssa Moran got the start and made two saves during the first half to record her 13th victory of the season. Molly Donatelli started the second half and stopped all four shots she faced before Sara DiGiovanni finished out the game in the cage.

Last Time vs. Haverford

What was at the time a battle of two teams tied for second place in the Centennial Conference standings, F&M took a huge step towards locking up a first round bye in the Centennial Conference Tournament with a back-and-forth 16-14 win against visiting Haverford on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats celebrated Senior Day prior to the game and honored that class by scoring six of the final eight goals during the Centennial Conference victory. In a matchup of teams that were tied for second place in the conference standings coming into the day, the two sides were tied five times, including twice during the fourth quarter.

Maddy Birch had a huge Senior Day with four goals and three assists, while Gillian Brennan added three goals and one assist. Sydney Lowe and Madison Bray added multiple goals to the winning side. Haverford had a more focused scoring attack as three different players recorded hat tricks, including four goals from Tiffany Mikulis. Franklin & Marshall tied the game at 12 during the fourth quarter as Brennan found Bray for her second goal of the game at the 10:05 mark. The Fords took the lead less than a minute later, but three straight goals from the Diplomats gave them a lead they would not relinquish. Birch completed her hat trick when she tied the game at 13 before Adde Hollander and Brennan put F&M in front for good. The Fords trimmed the lead down to a single goal on a free-position shot with exactly three minutes to play before Maddy Birch capped her big day with the final tally of the afternoon at the 1:18 mark.

The Diplomats finished with a 35-23 advantage in shots and 14-10 edge in ground balls. Alyssa Moran picked up her 11th win of the season with her four saves on the afternoon. In addition to a pair of goals, Bray led the Diplomats with six draw controls in a category that Haverford led by just one. Delaney Liston aided the defensive efforts with a team-high three ground balls, while Lane Lambeth forced a pair of turnovers from the opposition

Haverford Preview

The Fords enter this game receiving votes in the national polls and are currently on the bubble for a spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament after a 12-5 regular season that saw them go 7-2 in Centennial Conference play.  Draw controls will be a key battle to watch as Tiffany Mikulis (88 DC) and Katharine Ferentz (83 DC) are two of the best in the conference even though opponents have a 232-223 edge overall in that category. Mikulis leads the offense with 61 goals on the season, in addition to 45 ground balls. Sam Silverman (49 goals) and Ferrence (43 goals) are two more attackers to keep an eye on as both have also contributed over 30 assists. Annie Bravacos has started all but three games in goal and is stopping 38.9 percent of the shots she has faced while allowing just over 12 goals per game.
