WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2022) – The USMMA wrestling team opened up the 2022-23 season on Saturday at the Ned McGinley Invitational hosted by King's College. The Mariners had three wrestlers place in the top-six and came in eighth place as a team at the event.

Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) led the way with a third-place finish in the heavyweight bracket after he went 4-1 on the day with one pin. Classmate
Cade Cowley (Boulder City, Nev.) placed fourth at 184, going 4-2 with three of his wins coming via fall, while freshman
Corey Haney (Medina, Ohio) took a share of sixth place due to both wrestlers reaching their match limit. He went 4-2 over his six matches and also had three pins.
The Mariners are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 19, when they travel up to Springfield, Mass., to take part in the Doug Parker Invitational, hosted by Springfield College beginning at 10 a.m. Any live links for the event will be posted on
