TOWSON, MD – One day after dominating the 1500, the Johns Hopkins men's and women's track teams did the same in the 5000 on the second day of the Towson Invitational. The Blue Jay women took first and fifth while the men grabbed the top two spots and placed five runners in the top 10. In addition, senior

The Blue Jay men finished in second place with 104 points, just four behind first-place Delaware State. The Blue Jay women collected 66 points and finished in third place.
Junior
Alex Ross won the women's 5000m with a PR and the second-best time in the nation (17:11.35). Classmate
Aishanee Wijeratna followed in fifth place in 18:43.18. Senior

Alex Glavin went one-two in the men's 5000m and posted the top two times in the nation (14:27.69 / 14:34.53).
"We were really excited for the 5K crew today," noted assistant coach Maura Linde. "Overall we had some great performances. After a year of waiting to compete again, it was just really nice to have everyone on the track. Having them all compete and run so well was a great bonus.
Alex Glavin was certainly one of the highlights in the 5k. He has worked so hard over the years, and this past year of training really came together for him. He has been on the edge of a break-through and today he took the opportunity and ran a huge PR."
Gutierrez broke a five-year-old school record in the 100m hurdles, finishing in 14.83 for seventh place. She also took seventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.50m. In the long jump, Kadiri crushed the freshmen record with a jump of 5.55m, breaking the mark by 0.37m, and finishing in third place. Sophomore
Marissa Hsu placed eighth with a leap of 5.32m.

Ariel Keklak raced to a fourth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:14.64. Senior
