NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. –
The Gettysburg College men's golf team just missed the cut at the NCAA Division III Championship, but senior Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) earned a spot in the final two rounds as an individual by firing an even-par 72 on the Keene Run Course at the Keene Trace Golf Club Wednesday afternoon.

As a team, the Bullets dropped three strokes from their round one total with a 311. The team's total score of 625 was just five shy of a tie for 17th between Aurora University and St. Thomas University. Only the top 18 teams move on to compete in the final two rounds.

Harcourt climbed 52 spots on the individual leaderboard to finish as one of the top six individuals not on the 18 advancing teams. He was on his game from the outset, posting a pair of birdies on both par-5s on the front nine and opening the first half of his round at one-under. Harcourt tallied his seventh birdie of the event on the par-4, 380-yard 13th hole to get to two-under before closing with back-to-back bogeys on 17 and 18.

Harcourt finished the second round tied for 29th and seven shots off the lead with a total score of 149. Cameron Willis of Wittenberg University and Zane Brownrigg of Methodist University are currently tied for the overall lead with 142.

Round three will take place at the Champion Trace Course Thursday. Harcourt, who posted a 77 at Champion Trace in the opening round, tees off at 9:10 a.m.

Senior Dane Sethre-Hofstad (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) closed his collegiate career in strong fashion and did his best to put the team in contention for making the cut. Sethre-Hofstad went one-over on the front nine with eight pars and a bogey before opening the back-half of his round with birdies on the 10th and 11th holes. He finished even-par over the back nine and turned in a one-over 73 for the day. Sethre-Hofstad climbed 69 spots in the standings with his two-day total of 153 and finished the round tied for 53rd overall.

All five players posted birdies on the day with sophomore Quinn Greene (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury School) picking up two. Greene bounced back from a quadruple-bogey on his first hole to post a birdie on the par-4, 377-yard No. 7. He added another birdie on hole number 14 and finished the round with an 82. Greene is tied for 137th with a total of 161 at the event's halfway point.

Freshman Tristan Hochman (Westport, Conn./Staples) finished out his first year with a 90 and totaled 168 in his national debut. Hochman posted a birdie on the par-4, 435-yard third hole and is currently tied for 178th.

Sophomore Daniel Rieger (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) finished his second round with an 84 and is tied for 183rd with a two-day total of 169. Rieger was the only Bullet to birdie a par-3 on the day, using up just two strokes on the 164-yard fourth hole.

As a team, Gettysburg was making its first appearance at the NCAA Championship in 25 years. The Bullets set a program record with 10 tournament titles this season, including the team's first Centennial Conference championship in 17 years.
