SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse improved to 3-0 for the third consecutive season with a 14-5 drubbing of the Widener College Pride on Saturday afternoon. 

Swarthmore senior midfielder Tess Wild scored a game-high five goals on seven shots and went a perfect 3-for-3 on free-position attempts. Wild led the Garnet with five draw controls.

Sophie Peipher, who picked up four draw controls, registered a hat trick as well.

Elizabeth Wainwright and Kathryn Restrepo each recorded two goals. Julia Ostrowski and Mackenzie Frost rounded out Swarthmore's scoring with a goal a piece.

Swarthmore went 6-for-9 on free-position attempts for the day. In addition to Wild's three free-position scores, Peipher, Ostrowski and Frost found the back of the net while setting up around the fan.

Betsey Cohen made eight saves in goal for the Garnet to secure the victory.

The Garnet jumped out to a 2-0 lead after unassisted goals by Wild and Restrepo. Widener responded with its first goal, and then Swarthmore rallied for five consecutive goals. Widener got two back before halftime to cut into Swarthmore's 7-3 lead.

Peipher then scored all three of her goals in a row to start the second half and silence the Pride.

The Garnet out-scored the Pride 4-2 in the final 21 minutes to hold on to the win.

Swarthmore looks to make it a 4-0 start on March 12 in Clearwater, Florida, when the Garnet play Lynchburg College.
