CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming took to the Clarke Aquatic Center pool for the first time during the 2022-23 season on Saturday afternoon battling a pair of foes in Lebanon Valley College and Wilkes University. Fortunately, for the Red and White they were able to give the home crowd quite the thrill as the Devils sunk both opponents by scores of 108-46 (Wilkes) and 105-69 (LVC).
The day began with Dickinson taking the first three spots in the 200-yard medley relay as the unit of
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi, Paul Florio, Henry Lease, and
Justin Wong won the event with a time of 1:42.54, beating out the team of
Avery Coonin,
Patrick Dunn,
Reid Schattgen, and
Sunil Surprenant mark of 1:48.81. The final DC team was made up of
Christopher Burmaster, Ben Lilly,
Aaron Stern, and
Sam Strieb. They finished in 1:49.45.
The Red and White went "one-two" during the 200-yard freestyle with James Wright winning the race at 1:47.13, followed by
Alexander Kanard and his 1:50.29. Coonin landed in fourth at 2:06.51.
Dickinson occupied all three podium spots in the 50-yard freestyle as
Daulton Kendall (22.39) edged out teammate
Nolan Chenot (22.64).
Aidan Keillor joined the action as well with a time of 23.31 for third.
Connor Frederickson also competed in the event hitting the wall in 23.48.
Daniel Vasquez paced the pack for the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.90. Andrew Kelley put up a solid mark of 2:05.85 for second, followed by Wong (2:06.13) and Lease (2:09.85) in third and fourth respectively.Â
Once again Devils filled the podium during the 100-yard butterfly as Chenot earned the win at 54.97, while Vasquez took second (56.60) and Florio claimed third in 57.47.Â
Keillor picked up another win for the Red and White in the 100-yard freestyle by hitting the wall in 51.33 to just hold off Dain Vallie from LVC at 51.84. The next two competitors represented DC as Surprenant and Burmaster clocked in at 52.78 and 53.84 respectively.
Dickinson took up the top two spots for the 100-yard backstroke with Colloca-Bianchi stopping the clock at 55.81 for win, while Schattgen posted a 58.49.Â
