ORLANDO, FL - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team dropped their season opener 6-3 to Haverford College (Pa.) on the road at the USTA National Tennis Campus in Orlando on Sunday morning.

7th ranked freshman Kristal Dule, who was the ITA Regional Runner-up in the fall, helped Wesleyan on this day as she dominated in singles and doubles. She first teamed with sophomore Elisa Mariotti to win at the top doubles line 8-3 before cruising 6-1, 6-1 at #1 singles.

Mariotti then won her singles bout at the second line 6-3, 7-6, but a tough #2 doubles loss 8-7 would derail the Lady Bishops in this one as they started the match down a woman due to injury. The #2 doubles team of senior Chandler Brice and Isabella Gastelumendi dropped that bout 8-7 while they also each lost their singles bouts.

Wesleyan will next resume action in Florida on Tuesday afternoon when they battle John Carroll University at Noon.
