LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Melissa Gula was named the Longstreth/NFHCA Division III Regional Player of the Year for the South Region on Thursday afternoon. Gula is the second player in program history to receive the award since its inception in 2009, and the first since teammate Erin Coverdale received the award in 2017. The senior is the seventh Centennial Conference (CC) player to be honored.

Gula was essential for the Diplomats on both sides of the ball this season. F&M ranked 13th nationally in goals against average (0.83). Gula contributed 16 points on offense with five goals and six assists. The senior was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA South Region First Team earlier this week.

F&M finished with a 20-4 record, establishing a program-high for wins in a single season. The Diplomats advanced to the NCAA Final Four for the second time in the last three years and played in the Championship for the second time in program history, and the first time since 1981.
