LANCASTER, Pa. -- Just two weeks remain in the Centennial Conference regular season for the majority of fall sports, as CC teams jockey for playoff positioning down the stretch. Nearly all cross country teams completed their final tune-ups for the CC Championship meet this past weekend, with the championship set for next Saturday, Oct. 30.
Award recipients for this week include Max Brelig of Haverford men's cross country, Izzy Miller of Haverford women's cross country, Emma Bertrando of Gettysburg field hockey, Anna Scott of Johns Hopkins field hockey, Connor Fife of Gettysburg men's soccer, Tyler Lewin of Ursinus men's soccer, Katie Sullivan of Johns Hopkins women's soccer, Veronica Gibbons of Swarthmore women's soccer, and Zanze Kuba-McCoy of Gettysburg volleyball. Kuba-McCoy earned her second-straight weekly honor, while Lewin collected weekly honors for the second time this season.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Max Brelig, Jr., Haverford
Bonnieville, Ky. | Hart County
Brelig paced the Fords with a time of 25:34.7 on the 8K course at the Gloucester County DREAM Park. Haverford logged a fourth-place finish in a field of 33 teams at the Rowan Border Battle with Brelig leading the way with a fourth-place finish.
Izzy Miller, Sr., Haverford
Haddonfield, N.J. | Haddonfield Memorial
Miller took home the individual title in the Rowan Border Battle on the course at Gloucester County DREAM Park on Saturday afternoon, pacing the field of 275 runners with a time of 21:33.8. The performance helped lead the 32nd-ranked Fords to a fourth-place finish in the team standings, ahead of conference foes No. 7 Dickinson and Swarthmore.
Emma Bertrando, Sr., M, Gettysburg
West Chester, Pa., | Henderson
Bertrando had a hand in all three goals in a 3-1 win at Washington. The senior scored the first goal off a corner and smashed a pass from the right wing that was redirected by a teammate for a 2-0 lead. Bertrando capped the day with a slick pass from right to left for an insurance goal in the fourth quarter.
Anna Scott, Jr., D, Johns Hopkins
Ann Arbor, Mich. | Huron
Scott led a defense that held its opponents to just two total shots in a pair of Johns Hopkins wins last week. She also lent a hand to the offense with a goal. Scott and the Blue Jays held the Green Terror to one shot in a 7-0 win on Wednesday night. She and the defense then held the Mules to one shot, while she also scored a goal on a penalty corner, in a 4-0 win.
Connor Fife, Jr., F, Gettysburg
Newtown, Pa. | Holy Ghost Prep
Fife became the first Gettysburg men's soccer player in four years to register a hat trick in the 3-1 victory against Salisbury on Wednesday. The junior is tied for second in goals and fourth in points in the conference.
Tyler Lewin, Jr, GK, Ursinus
Albuquerque, N.M. | Severna Park (Md.)
Lewin was able to collect five saves and anchor down the Bears’ defense while pitching a shutout against the No.5 Blue Jays. The junior finished the 1-0-1 week with seven saves.
Katie Sullivan, Fr., F, Johns Hopkins
Yardley, Pa. | Villa Joseph Marie
Sullivan scored a goal in each contest this weekend, including the OT game-winner in a top-10 road matchup at McDaniel. Sullivan got a feed from Rachel Jackson in the 99th minute in Westminster on Wednesday afternoon and beat the charging keeper to win it for the Blue Jays. The freshman added her seventh goal of the season in a 5-0 win over Ursinus on Saturday.
Veronica Gibbons, Jr., M, Swarthmore
Pittsburgh, Pa. | Upper St. Clair
Gibbons helped the Garnet to a 2-0 week. The defensive center mid had the game-winning goal and led the defense in shutting out one of the top-scoring teams in the Centennial on Saturday against Franklin & Marshall. In pivotal corners and free kicks for the opponent, Gibbons won almost every 50-50 ball. The Swarthmore defense held Ursinus to just six total shots in their 2-1 overtime victory.
Zanze Kuba-McCoy, Jr., OH, Gettysburg
Somerville, N.J. | Somerville
Kuba-McCoy averaged 4.43 kills and 3.86 digs per set while hitting a blistering .443 on the attack in a pair of wins last week. The junior outside hitter logged 12 kills and eight digs in a quick 3-0 non-conference sweep of Penn State Mont Alto on Oct. 13. Kuba-McCoy knocked down a career-high 19 kills and tied her personal best with 19 digs in a 3-1 win at Washington on Oct. 16. She hit .472 against the Shorewomen and added three aces and two blocks.
