LANCASTER, Pa. -- The spring 2022 regular season is now complete as we hand out our final Centennial Conference weekly awards of 2022 in baseball, softball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's outdoor track & field.

Baseball
Player of the Week
Luke Mutz, Sr., INF, Swarthmore
Swarthmore, Pa. | Strath Haven
Mutz extended his on-base streak to 24 games and has recorded a hit in 23 of those 24 contests. He helped the Garnet capture the top seed in the Centennial with two RBIs, a triple and his first collegiate homer in the finale versus Franklin & Marshall. Mutz hit .588 this week with 10 hits and six extra base hits. The senior was the regular season champion in batting average and stolen bases. He was also excellent in the field this weekend and turned a couple key double plays.
Baseball
Pitcher of the Week
Joe Morrissey, Fr., RHP, Washington College
Moorestown, N.J. | Moorestown
Morrissey tossed a three-hit complete game shutout with nine strikeouts in the Shoremen's 6-0 win over Dickinson on Saturday as the team clinched its first trip to the Centennial Conference Tournament in 10 years and third overall. The freshman set the program record for strikeouts in a single season, breaking a 10-year old record set by Shane Mattingly in 2012 with 93, and has 95 now on the season. Morrissey retired the first 14 hitters in the contest and had five 1-2-3 innings as he walked just one Dickinson batter.
Softball
Player of the Week
Mattie Whalen, Sr., OF, McDaniel
Magnolia, N.J. | Sterling
Whalen led the Green Terror to a 4-2 week, hitting .571. She went 8-for-14 with three doubles and a home run for a 1.000 slugging while driving in five runs. She also drew a walk and was hit by a pitch for a .588 on-base percentage. She was also 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts and did not strike out in any plate appearance.
Softball
Pitcher of the Week
Gwen Glatz, Sr., RHP, Swarthmore
Exeter, Pa. | Wyoming Area Secondary Center
Glatz led the Garnet to a 4-0 week, in which Swarthmore clinched the top seed for the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament. The righty allowed one run, and no earned runs in 12 innings in the circle. In the victory over Haverford, Glatz allowed one hit, struck out one as the Garnet earned a 9-1 decision. Against Dickinson, Glatz fanned four and allowed six hits.

Offensive Player of the Week
Quinton Mather, So., A, Gettysburg
Avon, Conn. | Avon Old Farms
Mather tied a personal high with five goals in a 16-12 win over Ursinus. Four of his scores came in the first half, while his final tally gave the Bullets a 14-6 lead midway through the third quarter. Mather also picked up two ground balls and posted a caused turnover.

Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Burke, Gr., FO, Muhlenberg
Montville, N.J. | Montville Twp.
Burke won 16 of 22 faceoffs and picked up 12 ground balls in the Mules' 17-4 win against McDaniel in the final game of the regular season. His control of possession was a key factor in a defensive effort that held the Green Terror to only 20 shots in the game. Burke went right to goal after winning the opening faceoff, scoring with just six seconds elapsed to get Muhlenberg off to a good start in a game it needed to win to clinch a playoff berth.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ellie Morrall, Jr., M, Washington College
Contoocook, N.H. | Hopkinton
Morrall scored eight goals, won nine draw controls, picked up nine ground balls and notched six caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen as they secured a spot in their 10th straight trip to the Centennial Conference Tournament, the first Washington College team to qualify for 10 straight conference tournaments in a sport that the team has to qualify for. In Wednesday's 15-6 win over visiting Swarthmore, she led all players with five goals, six ground balls and draws and five caused turnovers as netted a career-best in caused turnovers and tied her personal best in goals and ground balls. On Saturday in the team's 13-12 win over visiting Dickinson, she scored three times, to tie for team-high, while picking up three ground balls and winning three draws.

Defensive Player of the Week
Madison Bray, So., M, Franklin & Marshall
Bridgewater, N.J. | Bridgewater-Raritan
Bray secured 17 draw controls as No. 4 F&M defeated Dickinson and Haverford to secure the second seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament. She also caused one turnover against Dickinson and picked up a team-leading four ground balls against the nationally-ranked Fords. Bray was also a force offensively with three assists against Dickinson and a hat trick against Haverford during the regular season finale.

Player of the Week
Thomas Yu, So., Johns Hopkins
Bellevue, Wash. | Bellevue
Yu went 3-0 at number one doubles and 3-0 at number one singles as Johns Hopkins clinched the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament. He lost a total of just six games in his three doubles' matches and did not drop a set in his three singles matches versus Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall and Swarthmore. He earned wins over the third-ranked doubles team and fourth-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South region. Yu also tied the program record for singles wins (24) and total wins (47) in a season.
Women's Tennis
Player of the Week
Amanda Ruci, Sr., Johns Hopkins
Naples, Fla. | Barron Collier
Ruci went 2-0 in singles to help Johns Hopkins complete an undefeated Centennial Conference regular season and secure the top seed in the conference tournament. She lost just one game in her straight-sets win at fourth singles versus Dickinson. Ruci followed that with a huge win on senior day. She won 7-6 (2), 7-5 at sixth singles, the final match of the contest, to clinch a 5-4 win over #27 Swarthmore and the Centennial regular season title.

Track Athlete of the Week
Kevin Sommer, Jr., Johns Hopkins
Pitman, N.J. | Pitman
At the Paul Kaiser Classic in Shippensburg, Pa., Sommer moved into 16th on the Division III performance list in the 400-meter hurdles. Sommer ran his personal best and the second-fastest time in program history to win the event in 54.03 seconds. The time also ranks sixth all-time in Centennial history.

Field Athlete of the Week
Ben Arehart, Sr., Muhlenberg
Delhi, N.Y. | Delaware Academy
Arehart won the high jump at the Lehigh Covert Classic as the only Division III athlete in the field. His mark of 2.00 meters is the best in the Centennial Conference and tied for the 19th best in Division III this season.

Track Athlete of the Week
Lina Spjut, Sr., Johns Hopkins
Cypress, Texas | Cypress Woods
Running the 5000 for the first time at the collegiate level, Lina Spjut flourished, earning a top-10 time at the DIII level. Spjut competed at the Penn Relays on Thursday and crossed the finish line in 16:41.83. She joins teammates Ella Baran and Alex Ross in the top-10 in the event and her time is good for seventh-best in program history.

Field Athlete of the Week
Victoria Kadiri, So., Johns Hopkins
Lynn, Mass. | Phillips Academy
Kadiri broke her own conference and school records in the triple jump with a 12.22-meter jump on Saturday in Shippensburg, Pa. Kadiri's mark broke the previous record of 11.82m that she set just last week. It ranks third in Division III this season.
