All-CC Men's Basketball: JHU's Delaney Repeats as Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins' Conner Delaney repeated as Player of the Year to highlight the 2022 All-Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Team. JHU's Sidney Thybulle, Gettysburg's Carl Schaller and Dickinson head coach Alan Seretti received the other major awards.

Delaney becomes the seventh player in Centennnial history and first Blue Jay to receive multiple Player of the Year awards. He is also the first player in CC history to win Rookie of the Year and multiple Player of the Year accolades. The graduate student guard cemented his place in the CC record books with another superb campaign that resulted in the Blue Jays' second straight CC title.

Thybulle, a junior forward for Hopkins, was selected as Defensive Player of the Year. He becomes the second Blue Jay to win the award since it was instituted in 2018, joining Daniel Vila (2018) in the defensive stalwart club for the Blue Jays.

Schaller was selected by the CC head coaches as the Rookie of the Year. The freshman guard helped the Bullets to a third-place regular season finish and their first trip to the CC postseason since 2016. He is the second Bullet to claim the honor since its inception in 2013. Cody Kiefer also earned the award for Gettysburg in 2014.

Seretti was chosen by his peers as Coach of the Year for the second time, with the other occuring in 2011, after guiding the Red Devils to the CC playoffs for the first time since 2018. Dickinson posted a 10-8 CC record in 2021-22 after going 4-14 in the most recent conference season in 2019-20. He is now one of four coaches in conference history to win multiple COTY awards.

Franklin & Marshall (31) has the most first-team selections in the history of the conference, followed by Ursinus (21), Johns Hopkins (19), Muhlenberg (16), Gettysburg (16), Dickinson (11), Swarthmore (10), Washington College (7), Haverford (6), and McDaniel (5).
