Cole Pellicano, Defensive Player of the Week, 4/30/18

Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week 4/16/18
Cole Pellicano, So, GK, Dickinson
Arnold, Md./Broadneck
Pellicano posted a 61.2 save percentage in a 2-0 week for the Red Devils that landed a #2 seed in this week's Conference tournament. He made 21 saves, including 15 in the first half, in the 11-9 win at Franklin & Marshall.

Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 4/23/18
Dylan Slack, Jr, GK, Haverford
San Rafael, Calif./Marin Academy
Dylan Slack did not allow a single goal in the first half of a 6-4 Haverford win over Ursinus and stopped 17 of the Bears' 21 shots on goal. Slack also tied for the team lead with four ground balls as Haverford kept its playoff chances alive despite being outshot by Ursinus 37-38.

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 4/16/18
Geoff Fulgione, Sr, FO, Gettysburg
North Andover, Mass./Brooks School
Fulgione won 57.5% (23-40) of his face-offs in a 2-0 week for the fourth-ranked Bullets. In his top performance of the week, he went 14 for 18 at the X while picking up seven ground balls in Gettysburg's 11-5 win over Haverford. Fulgione also won 9 of 22 face-offs in the Bullets' 12-11 come-from-behind victory at No. 10 Dickinson. 

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 4/9/18
Elliott Shevitz, Jr, GK, Ursinus
St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton-Watkins
Shevitz made a career-high 22 saves - the fourth-highest single-game total in program history - to lead the Bears to a 10-7 victory at McDaniel. Shevitz posted six saves in three different quarters and matched the highest save total by an Ursinus goalie since 2009.

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 4/2/18
Christian Atalese, So, LSM, Gettysburg
Long Valley, N.J./West Morris CentralAtalese was a defensive catalyst for a pair of conference wins last week. The sophomore long-stick midfielder tied a personal best with five ground balls and tallied three caused turnovers as fourth-ranked Gettysburg took down defending Centennial champ and 10th-ranked Franklin & Marshall 16-12. Atalese added three ground balls and a caused turnover in a 18-11 victory over Muhlenberg to cap the week. 

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 3/26/18
Jakob Katzen, So, GK, McDaniel
Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends
Katzen led the Green Terror to a 7-3 win over Haverford in the conference opener on Saturday. He allowed just three goals while making 14 saves, including eight in the fourth quarter when the Fords pelted the defense with 20 shots.

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 3/19/18
Cole Pellicano, So, GK, Dickinson
Arnold, Md. / Broadneck
Pellicano had a great tournament at the Green Turtle Classic, leading the Red Devils to a 2-0 record, knocking off #19-ranked host Stevenson on Friday night and turning around to topple #2-ranked Denison on Saturday. The sophomore turned away 29 shots in two games, posting an 8.66 GAA, adding five ground balls as well. He made 15 saves on Friday and 14 on Saturday.

 

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 3/12/18
Ben Flood, Sr., G, Washington College
Atlanta, Ga. / The Lovett School
Made 15 saves and allowed just seven goals in Washington's 12-7 victory at Stockton on Saturday afternoon for a .682 save percentage. Made 12 of his saves in the second half as he faced 30 shots and allowed just four goals in the final 30 minutes as he helped the Shoremen win by five.

 

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 3/5/18
Tim Brady, Sr, GK, Gettysburg
Charlotte, N.C. / Providence
Brady made a season-high 13 saves in No. 6 Gettysburg's 7-6 overtime victory at No. 15 Stevenson. The senior goalie made four of his saves over the final 10:40 of regulation as the team erased a three-goal deficit. Brady made a crucial stop with 34 seconds left that helped set the stage for Gettysburg's game-tying tally in regulation. 

 

Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 2/26/18
Garrett Pope, So, GK, Muhlenberg
New Providence, N.J./New Providence
Pope compiled a 7.00 goals-against average and .659 save percentage as Muhlenberg won two games in which it was outshot to improve to 3-0 for the first time in 11 years. Pope set a career high with 13 saves in an 8-6 win at Susquehanna, then topped that with 14 in a 9-8 defeat of Scranton.

 

Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week 2/19/18
Sam Cloud, Sr, LSM, Washington College
Alexandria, Va. / St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School
 Cloud had a career-high four caused turnovers and picked up seven ground balls in the Shoremen's 16-7 victory against Birmingham-Southern. He contributed to seven Washington College goals either causing a turnover or picking up the ground ball that started the offensive series that led to a score.
