Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior
Jack Momeyer found the back of the net for the third straight match in leading the #18 Swarthmore men's soccer team to a 2-0 triumph over Washington College on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Clothier Field. With the victory, the Garnet punched their ticket to the Centennial Conference Tournament.
Swarthmore (9-2-4, CC 5-0-2), which honored its nine-member senior class before the match, controlled the first half and had 7-3 advantage in total shots. Junior
Michael Stewart nearly put the hosts on the board just before the break in the 43rd minute, but his open shot clanked off the inside of the right post and was cleared away.
The Garnet, however, were able to net two goals just 4:04 apart in the early stages of the second frame to get the offense they needed to remain undefeated in conference play. Momeyer broke the scoreless deadlock in the 49th minute by winning the ball in a scramble in front of the net before sophomore
David Geschwind added insurance in the 53rd. The junior doubled the Garnet lead after goalkeeper Jon Wendeborn mishandled a throw-in by senior
Jake Weiner, who was credited with an assist on the play.

Swarthmore will look to earn postseason hosting rights when it visits archrival Haverford on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
