Co-Offensive Players of the Week 10/30/17

Connor Jacobs, So, D, Johns Hopkins
Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School of Knoxville

Jacobs scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in Johns Hopkins' 3-0 win over Dickinson on Friday night. The win secured the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the Blue Jays. The two goals are a career high for the sophomore defender. 

 

Nick Jannelli, So, F, Haverford
Springfield, Pa./Springfield

Nick Jannelli scored two goals in Haverford's 3-1 win against Swarthmore to clinch the No. 4 seed and first round home match for the Haverford College men's soccer team on Saturday. Jannelli scored the game's opening goal just over five minutes in and added a penalty kick for insurance during the second half. The sophomore now has 13 goals this fall and is a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kick attempts.

Offensive Player of the Week 10/23/17

R.J. Moore, Fr, Johns Hopkins
Vienna, Va./Gonzaga College HS

Moore led Johns Hopkins to a 2-0-0 week with shutout wins over McDaniel and Ursinus. He had a hand in both of the Blue Jays' goals on Wednesday, scoring the game-winner and assisting on their second goal. On Saturday, he scored in the win in Collegeville. 

 

 

Offensive Player of the Week 10/16/17

Kevin Irving, Jr, M, Muhlenberg
Westfield, N.J./Westfield

Irving, who began the week with a career total of two goals, scored two in a 3-1 win at Moravian and two more in a 3-0 shutout of Ursinus. The four goals came on only nine shots. Irving is the first Mule with back-to-back multiple-goal games since 2010.

 

Offensive Player of the Week 10/9/17

Patrick Santini, Sr, F, Gettysburg
Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich

Santini scored three of Gettysburg's four goals in a 2-0 week for the Bullets. He netted both goals in a 2-1 overtime win against regionally-ranked Eastern, including the game-winner with 24 seconds remaining. Santini also scored an insurance goal in the 84th minute in a 2-0 win at Muhlenberg. He has tallied 11 of his team's last 12 goals.

 

Offensive Player of the Week 10/2/17

Santini scored all five of his team's goals and tied a school record with his third career hat trick in a 2-0 week for the Bullets. He netted the loan goal in a 1-0 victory at McDaniel, then followed up with a four-goal explosion in a 4-1 victory over No. 23 Haverford. Santini accomplished his hat trick in the game's opening 34 minutes before adding an insurance tally in the second half. His performance helped the Bullets to their first win over Haverford since 2013 and their first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent since 2009. Santini's four goals were one shy of a school record and the most by a Bullet since 1999.

 

 

Offensive Player of the Week 9/25/17

Nick Jannelli, So, F, Haverford
Springfield, Pa./Springfield

Nick Jannelli scored two game-winning goals in the final minute of both Haverford wins during the week. His goal against Scranton came with 42 seconds remaining in the first overtime during the Fords' 1-0 win. He also scored twice in the second half against Franklin & Marshall. His game-winning goal came with 52.2 seconds left in regulation. He earlier scored a go-ahead goal and assisted on a game-tying goal. The reigning Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year is tied for the NCAA Division III lead with five game-winning goals and has eight goals and two assists for a total of 18 points through the first eight games.

 

Offensive Player of the Week 9/18/17

Patrick Santini, Sr, F, Gettysburg
Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich

Santini continued his torrid start of the Bullets, scoring all three of his team's goals while netting his second career hat trick in Gettysburg's 3-0 victory at Washington. Santini struck for all three of his tallies in the game's opening 16 minutes for Gettysburg, which is 5-0 for the first time since 1998. With eight goals, Santini has already exceeded his total from each of the last two years. He has also scored in six straight matches, dating back to last season.

 

Offensive Player of the Week 9/11/17

Achim Younker, So, M/F, Johns Hopkins
Union, N.J./Seton Hall Prep

Younker scored four goals in leading Johns Hopkins to three wins last week. He scored his first career hat trick and accounted for all of Hopkins' goals in a 3-0 win at Frostburg Wednesday night. He also scored in Hopkins' 2-0 win at Plattsburgh State in the championship game of the Best Western Plus Cardinal Classic. Younker was named the tournament's Offensive MVP. 

 

Offensive Player of the Week 9/5/17

Patrick Santini, Sr, F, Gettysburg
Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich

Santini was involved in all three of his team's goals for the week, netting two goals (both game-winners) and one assist to lead the Bullets to the Salisbury Elmer Lord Memorial Tournament title. In a 2-1 victory over St. Mary's (Md.), he assisted on the team's first goal before scoring the game-winner in the 52nd minute. Then in a 1-0 double-overtime win over Salisbury, he converted the first penalty kick of his career, booting home a golden goal in the 109th minute.
