CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Senior forward Eric Gwadz scored just over two minutes into the first overtime to give the host and second-seeded Washington College a 1-0 victory over third-seeded Franklin & Marshall in the Centennial Conference semifinals on Friday evening at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.
After a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation in which F&M held a 15-5 edge in shots and 6-1 advantage in corner kicks, the Shoremen capitalized early on in overtime to move on to the CC championship game for the first time in program history. Streaking down the right side towards the endline, Greg Adams played a low cross along the ground towards the front of goal that slipped just past the hands of F&M goalkeeper Sam Altmann Farrell and to the foot of Eric Gwadz, who touched it home for the game-winner.
