Washington College Men's Soccer Named Region V Coaching Staff of the Year

Kansas City, MO – The Washington College men's soccer coaching staff, led by head coach Roy Dunshee, has been named the Men's Region V Staff of the Year (SOY) for Division III Institutions.

This honor is a result of a vote by other coaches in Region V who are also members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services program.

The Shoremen just finished a historic season in Chestertown, winning a school-record 15 games in 2021. The squad captured their first-ever Centennial Conference Championship and won their first two contests in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament, reaching the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. The two NCAA Tournament victories were also Washington's first for the school.

Washington College's coaching staff, which consists of Dunshee, Ryan Shera (assistant), Jeff Reinoehl (volunteer assistant), Tom Bowman (volunteer assistant),and James Bedrock (volunteer assistant), will now be placed onto the National Staff of the Year ballot. The voting for National SOY in Division III will begin Dec. 8.  

The presentation of Regional SOY plaque will take place at the College Coaches Reception during the Convention in Kansas City. The reception will take place on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at 8:00 pm in the Marriott Imperial Ballroom. 

The National Staff of the Year will be announced on Dec. 17, 2022. The award will be presented at the annual Awards Banquet, 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Marriott Imperial Ballroom.
