CARLISLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College swimming teams stayed hot with a sweep at Dickinson College in Centennial Conference (CC) action Wednesday evening.
The men's team remained undefeated (8-0, 5-0 CC) with a close 109-96 victory while the women's squad captured its fifth-straight win, prevailing by a 124-81 verdict.
On the men's side, the Bullets led just 96-92 heading into the final event – the 200-freestyle relay. But the team of junior Mike Harmon (Shippensburg, Pa./home-schooled), junior Ashton Leyens (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin), junior Stu Cubbison (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic), and senior Sean Staerk (Abington, Pa./Abington) won in 1:27.40 to clinch the meet.
Gettysburg also opened the night with a victory in the 200-medley relay, with Harmon, freshman Ian Sherwood (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey), sophomore Tyler Gould (Darien, Conn./Darien), and junior Jason Potter (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) touching in 1:36.29.
Three Bullets also captured individual events. Leyens won the 200-freestyle in 1:46.47, Gould led a 1-2-3 sweep with a victory in the 100-butterfly (53.99), and Potter won the 100-freestyle in 47.50.
The women's team came away with six victories on the evening. The Bullets opened with a win in the 200-medley relay, as sophomore

Ali Roth (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) clocked a time of 1:53.44. Five individual victories ensued, starting with sophomore
Haley Weaver (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) in the 200-freestyle (1:57.09).
Other winners were Roth, who led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50-freestyle with a time of 25.02, Boswell in the 100-butterfly (1:01.94), sophomore
Lea Candelmo (Oakland, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) in the 500-freestyle (5:19.48), and sophomore
Emily Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) in the 100-breaststroke (1:09.40).
The Bullets conclude their dual-meet schedule on Saturday at home versus Franklin & Marshall College beginning at 1 p.m. in a Centennial Conference match-up.
