Kleiman Nabs All-America Honors in Mile

Winston-Salem, N.C. -- Johns Hopkins' Matthew Kleiman secured All-America honors in the mile to lead Centennial Conference performers on day two of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at the JDL Fast Track. 

Kleiman's sixth-place finish with a time of 4:07.84 earned him All-America honors for the first time in his career, capping off an outstanding indoor season in the mile. The time was the fastest in JHU history and and ranks fifth all-time in Centennial history.  
 
JHU sophomore Gavin McElhennon placed 15th in the 3000, finishing with a time of 8:29.73 in his first ever NCAA Championship. Muhlenberg's Ben Arehart took 16th in the high jump at 1.97m. 

Kleiman's efforts earned three points for Hopkins, placing the Blue Jays tied for 52nd in the team standings.
