LANCASTER, Pa. -- Dickinson's Teddy Mercer and Don Nichter, Ursinus' Griffin McMann, and McDaniel's Nick Razze nabbed major awards to lead the 2021 All-Centennial Men's Outdoor Track & Field team.
Teddy Mercer was named Outstanding Track Performer of the meet with individual wins in the 800 (1:56.32) and 1500 meters (4:00.54), while also anchoring the Red Devils' third-place 4x800 relay. Mercer is the fourth Red Devil to earn the conference's top track honor at the outdoor meet. Nichter was selected by his peers as Coach of the Year after guiding the Red Devils to a second-place team finish.
McMann was a unanimous choice as Outstanding Field Performer after a stellar performance for Ursinus that included a trifecta of gold medals in the hammer throw (47.24m), shot put (15.08m), and discus (45.45m). The senior is the first Bear to win the award in its 19-year history.
Razze was named Outstanding Rookie after claiming the lone gold for the Green Terror in the 400 hurdles (54.50). He becomes the first McDaniel athlete to collect the honor in its eight-year history.
All-Centennial honors are awarded to the top-three placewinners in each individual event and the top two relay teams. See below for the complete list of honorees.
