LANCASTER, Pa. -- Marymount's Noelle Jensen swept the major athlete awards while the Gettysburg coaching staff also received a major honor to lead the 2023 All-Centennial Women's Golf Team.
Jensen was named both Player and Rookie of the Year, becoming just the second player in conference history to achieve that distinction in the same season. Gettysburg's Samantha Sessa was the only previous player to double up on those awards back in 2015. Jensen posted a conference-leading 78.7 scoring average this season and won five of the 11 tournaments in which she competed. Jensen is the third straight and fourth overall Saint to receive Player of the Year accolades since they joined the CC as an associate member in 2017-18.
Gettysburg head coach Susan Konstalid and assistant coach Kathy Murphy were selected by their peers as the Coaching Staff of the Year in the CC. Previously labeled as the Coach of the Year award, the Centennial changed the award to Coaching Staff of the Year for all 24 sports beginning in 2022-23. Konstalid has now received top coaching honors seven times since the award was instituted in 2011.
Marymount's Hunter Gillis and Kate Parsons were named to the All-Centennial team after placing among the top five at last weekend's Centennial championship. Gillis, who is now a three-time All-CC honoree and was Player of the Year in 2022, becomes the 15th golfer in conference history to receive all-star honors at least three times in a career. Gillis tied for fourth at the CC championship. Parsons tied for second place at the CC championship to earn her all-conference spot.
Cabrini's Ashley Ea earned her second-straight All-Centennial honor after taking home medalist accolades at the championship. Ea won the tournament by one shot with a 10-over 82.
The Gettysburg duo of Caroline Kurtt and Ava Nicole Markunas also collected All-Centennial awards, helping the Bullets capture their record 11th CC crown. Kurtt tied for second place while Markunas tied for fourth.
