For the conference-leading 10th time in Centennial history, Gettysburg has earned the No. 1 seed and right to host the championship weekend in women's lacrosse. With a 23-7 triumph over Ursinus in Saturday's regular season finale, the Bullets completed a perfect 9-0 CC mark and will host the semifinals and finals next weekend at Clark Field.
Wednesday's first round matchup will feature No. 5 Swarthmore (9-6, 4-5 CC) at No. 4 Washington College (7-9, 5-4 CC). Swarthmore clinched its first CC postseason berth since 2012 with a 9-8 victory over Bryn Mawr on Saturday. The Garnet finished in a three-way tie for fifth at 4-5 with McDaniel and Muhlenberg, but earned the playoff spot by virtue of a 2-0 head-to-head record against the Green Terror and Mules.
The winner of Wednesday's first round game will take on top-seeded Gettysburg (14-3, 9-0 CC) in Saturday's semifinals. The other semifinal in Gettysburg will feature No. 2 Franklin & Marshall (15-2, 8-1 CC) vs. No. 3 Haverford (12-4, 7-2 CC). The Diplomats downed the Fords 18-11 in Saturday's regular season finale.
Saturday's semifinal winners will face off on Sunday in Gettysburg with the CC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
