Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg both advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight with victories in the Sweet 16 on Saturday. The two Centennial squads will vie for spots in the Final Four on Sunday. 


MEDFORD, Mass. – The Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team is headed to the Elite 8 for the 21st time in program history after a thrilling 12-11 win against Ithaca under the lights on Saturday evening. The No. 6 Diplomats (18-3) never trailed, but could never completely escape the strong challenge throughout from the No. 10 Bombers (17-4) as they rallied to tie the game during each of the first three periods.

With the victory, Franklin & Marshall will return to action on Sunday night for another 7 p.m. opening draw against No. 3 Tufts with a spot in the Final Four on the line.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - No. 4 Gettysburg College outscored Denison University 8-0 in the second and third quarters on Saturday to pull away with a 17-9 victory over the Big Red in the third round of the NCAA women's lacrosse championships. 
 
 The Bullets (18-3), who won their 12th consecutive game while improving to 12-1 at home this spring, with the program's 40th all-time NCAA Tournament victory, will face No. 5 Washington and Lee University (19-2) in a quarterfinal matchup on Sunday afternoon.
