Reyes, Luth & Hallyburton Win Regional Titles; Nine Qualify for Nationals

NCAA Mideast Regional Results | NCAA Southeast Regional Results 

Johns Hopkins' Dominick Reyes and Washington and Lee's Ryan Luth and Rexx Hallyburton earned individual titles to lead a contingent of nine Centennial Conference wrestlers who qualifed for nationals at the NCAA Regional Championships over the weekend. 

At the Southeast Regional, Washington and Lee finished second among the 20 competing teams with 130 points. Hopkins took sixth with 76 points, followed by McDaniel (56.5) and Gettysburg (29.5). At the Mideast Regional, Muhlenberg finished seventh out of 18 teams with 84.5 points, with Merchant Marine (61.5) in eighth at 61.5 and Ursinus (50) in 10th. 

Reyes, Luth and Hallyburton headlined the regional championship performances with individual titles in their respective weight classes at the Southeast Regional. Reyes won the 165 title, Luth won at 157 and Hallyburton secured the 184 crown for the second straight season. 

Merchant Marine's duo of Dominick Esposito (174) and Josh Glantzman (184) qualified for nationals with runner-up placings at the Mideast Regional. Glantzman was also the 184 runner-up last season. Muhlenberg's Luca Colestock (197) placed second at the Mideast championship. 

Third-place finishers who grabbed the final spot into nationals in their weight classes included Muhlenberg's Austin Sherman (149) and Jimmy Fratantoni (184), along with Washington and Lee's Shane Conners (165). 

The national meet will take eplace March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
