Luth, Parker & Behaeghel Earn All-America Status

Three Centennial Conference wrestlers earned All-American status to highlight performances at the NCAA Division III wrestling championships on Friday and Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Washington and Lee's Riley Parker and Ryan Luth and Johns Hopkins' Hank Behaeghel secured top-eight finishes to lead a group of eight conference wrestlers that qualified for the national meet. 

In the team standings, Washington and Lee finished 13th among the 70 represented teams with 27.5 points. Johns Hopkins placed 44th with four points, Gettysburg tied for 46th with three points, and Muhlenberg was 51st with 1.5 points. 

W&L's Luth was the top individual performer, taking fourth place in the 157-pound bracket. Luth went 4-2 throughout the tournament. It marks the second career All-America honor for Luth but the first while competing at the championship. He also earned the accolade in 2020 when the championship was canceled due to COVID-19.  Luth concludes the year with a 33-3 overall record. 

W&L's Parker placed fifth at 125 pounds, posting a 4-3 record. It marks the first career All-America nod for Parker. He concludes the year with a 35-10 record. 

JHU's Behaeghel placed eighth heavyweight, becoming the ninth All-American in program history and the first heavyweight to earn a podium finish. Behaeghel 
went 2-3 en route to his eighth-place finish. He concludes the year with a 23-12 record. 

Gettysburg's Luke Kowalski (133) and Muhlenberg's Brandon Bowles (149) each earned one victory before bowing out at the championship. Muhlenberg's Joey Lamparelli (125), Ursinus' Terry Adams (125), and JHU's Dominick Reyes (165) also represented the Centennial at the national meet.
