Defensive Player of the Week 10/23/17

Libby Juliano, So, GK, Muhlenberg
Chadds Ford, Pa./The Tatnall School (Del.)

Juliano allowed only one goal in 220 minutes as Muhlenberg tied Kean and McDaniel despite getting outshot in both games. Juliano stopped seven shots against Kean and 10 in a shutout of regionally ranked McDaniel. For the week, she had a 0.41 goals-against average and .944 save percentage.

Defensive Player of the Week 10/16/17

Robyn Lipschultz, So, GK, Johns Hopkins
Wayzata, Minn./The Blake School

Lipschultz appeared in both games played by the #11 Johns Hopkins women's soccer this week, and in her 126:56 minutes of action the sophomore did not allow a goal. In her start at McDaniel, a 1-0 Blue Jay win, she made three saves to earn her fifth win and fifth shutout this season. Her five shutouts rank third in the Centennial. In her 36:56 minutes of action in Hopkins' 2-0 win over #23 Swarthmore she made two saves and did not allow a goal. Lipschultz has yet to allow a goal this season.

 

Defensive Player of the Week 10/9/17

Sabrina Doherty, Fr, GK, Ursinus
Odenton, Md./Arundel HS

Doherty posted a pair of clean sheets in a 1-0-1 week for the Bears. She made five saves in 110 minutes in a scoreless draw vs. Haverford. Doherty turned aside five more shots, including one on a penalty kick, in the 1-0 victory vs. Franklin & Marshall.

 

Defensive Player of the Week 9/25/17

Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley

Senior captain Taylor Cross anchored a defense from her centerback position that allowed just one goal over the course of two Centennial Conference wins against Muhlenberg and Franklin & Marshall. During those two victories, the Fords allowed just 12 shots with only five of those attempts going on goal. The only tally against the Fords came on a strike from 40-plus yards out in the midfield.

 

Defensive Player of the Week 9/18/17

Gabby Panayotakis, Fr, GK, Franklin & Marshall
Hamden, Conn./Hamden

Freshman goalkeeper Gabby Panayotakis earned a pair of shutouts last week in a 1-0-1 week for Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team. She now has four shutouts on the season.

 

Defensive Player of the Week 9/11/17

Annalie Buscarino, Fr, GK, Washington College
Centereach, N.Y./Centereach

Did not allow a goal in 83:23 of action in helping the Shorewomen post a pair of shutout wins this weekend at Mary Washington. She played the final 22:38 and made four saves to keep host Mary Washington off the scoreboard as the Shorewomen won 1-0 on Saturday. On Sunday in a 4-0 win over Marymount, she did not allow a goal in 60:45 of action.

 

Defensive Player of the Week 9/5/17

Mary Kate Brosnan, Jr, GK, Dickinson
Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan

Brosnan posted a pair of clean slates to start the season. She turned away two shots in a 2-0 win over Alvernia and made four saves in a 1-0, overtime win at Randolph Macon.
