Johns Hopkins junior Sophie Strickland and sophomore Anjie Kashyap will compete in the 2019 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship from May 24-26 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. Kashyap has been selected for the singles championship and will partner with Strickland for the doubles championship.

For the individual championships, the national committee selected seven singles players and three doubles teams from each of the four regions. Additionally, the committee selected the remaining four singles players and four doubles team berths from a national at-large pool. The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams.

The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

Kashyap is the seventh Blue Jay to be selected for the NCAA Singles Championship while she and Strickland are just the fourth different doubles pair to be selected. Kashyap is also just the fourth player to be selected for both singles and doubles in the same season.

Kashyap is 15-5 on the season and is 10-4 when playing at number one singles. Her 15 singles wins are a team-best and she is ranked fifth in the Atlantic South by the ITA. Kashyap and Strickland are 12-4 this season, including 9-3 at number one. The pair is ranked fifth in the Atlantic South.

In the singles bracket, Kashyap will take on fourth-seeded Heather Boehm of Middlebury in Friday's opening round. In doubles, Kashyap and Strickland will meet Emma Alsup and Lauren Hawley of Denison in Friday's first round.
