• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team wrapped up its 14th straight undefeated Centennial Conference season with a 9-0 win over Muhlenberg Saturday afternoon. In addition, graduate student Sophia Strickland earned her 100th career win.
How it Happened
• Hopkins grabbed a quick 3-0 lead over Muhlenberg by sweeping doubles without losing a game. Sophomores Anjali Devireddy and Emily Javedan beat Caroline Armknecht and Sophia Framm at first doubles. Strickland and senior Anjie Kashyap won at second over Jessica Sommer and Maria Stere. The win was the 100th win for Strickland. Senior Dhanya Asokumar and junior Jessica Liang defeated Rose Glantz and Carly Lodise at third.
• Devireddy beat Armknecht 6-0, 6-0 at first singles to secure the win for the Blue Jays. Kashyap won by the same score over Framm at second. Strickland then defeated Stere 6-1, 6-0 at third.
• Asokumar blanked Lodise, 8-0, at fourth singles. Javedan did not lose a game in beating Glantz at fifth. Junior Sophie Saland did the same at sixth in her win over Sommer.
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 20-7 all-time against Muhlenberg and has won 14 straight in the series.
• The Blue Jays have won 137 straight Centennial Conference regular season matches.
• Strickland became the seventh player in program history to win 100 matches. She is now tied for 10th in career singles wins (46) and is sixth in doubles wins (55).
• Kashyap is now tied for 21st with 35 career singles wins and is 18th with 39 doubles wins.
