Hammonds Takes Silver at NCAA Indoor Championships

Johns Hopkins' Maya Hammonds notched a second-place finish in the long jump while Caelyn Reilly earned a fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run to headline Centennial Conference performances on day one of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston, Mass. 

Hopkins is currently second in the team standings with 13 points while Washington University leads the way with 22 total points.

Hammonds set a new conference record in the long jump with a mark of 5.89 meters, earning second place, to secure the top finish of day one. 

Reilly became the second Blue Jay to earn All-American honors with her fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Reilly finished the race with a time of 16:42:53 which bested her previous career-best time by over 10 seconds. 

Dickinson's Isabel Cardi finished seventh in the 3000-meter preliminaries, advancing to Saturday's finals at 4:40 p.m. JHU's Emily Stahl placed 14th and Dickinson's Sarah House took 16th in the 3000. 

The Hopkins distance medley relay of Ariel Keklak, Alexandra Damron, Erin Brush, and Therese Olshanski took ninth with a time of 11:50.24.
