Centennial Conference Championship Photo Gallery
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Dickinson's Isabel Cardi, Swarthmore's Clay Conley, Johns Hopkins' Annie Gutierrez and Dickinson's Elizabeth Lieb secured the top awards on the 2020 All-Centennial Women's Indoor Track & Field Team. Johns Hopkins' Bobby Van Allen also received Coach of the Year accolades to round out the major honors.
Cardi was named the Oustanding Track Performer from the championship after winning the 3,000 meters with the second-fastest time in the nation and a school-record mark of 9:47.34. The junior also anchored the silver-medal distance medley relay for the Red Devils. Cardi is the fifth Dickinson athlete win the award.
Conley and Gutierrez finished tied in the voting Outstanding Field Performer of the championship meet, making each co-winners of the award. Conley won both the shot put and weight throw, and set a new conference championship meet record in the weight throw. The senior becomes the second Garnet athlete to collect Outstanding Field Performer honors at the indoor meet.
Gutierrez won three field events and took fifth in another while also placing second in the 60-meter hurdles on the track. She won the pentathlon with 2973 points, the pole vault (3.56m) and the high jump (1.51m) and finished fifth in the long jump. Overall, she contributed 42 points to help JHU to the team title en route to becoming the second-straight and third overall athlete for Hopkins to earn the accolade.
Lieb put together a standout performance at her first CC indoor meet, winning both the long jump and triple jump for Dickinson to earn Outstanding Rookie honors. She becomes the second Red Devil to claim the top rookie honor.
Van Allen was selected by his peers as Coach of the Year for the third-straight season after guiding the Blue Jays to their 10th consecutive indoor crown.
