Van Allen Named National Coach of Year For Seventh Time

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Johns Hopkins Head coach Bobby Van Allen was named the USTFCCCA Division III Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, it was announced today. On Saturday, Van Allen's program won a Division III record tying seventh national title, all coming in the last nine years. 

This is Van Allen seventh Coach of the Year honor as he matched the legendary SUNY Cortland coach Jack Daniels with seven national championships. Van Allen's team gutted out a two-point victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, earning three All-Americans in the process. Ella BaranAlex Ross and Paloma Hancock all earned the honor for Hopkins. 

Since the award began in 1993, no coach has received the honor more than Van Allen has. Terry Aldrich of Middlebury falls to second on the list with six Coach of the Year honors.
