• The Short Story: Third-seeded Misericordia outscored sixth-seeded Johns Hopkins 8-1 over the final three innings to fuel an 11-4 win over the Blue Jays on the second day of the NCAA Division III St. Paul Baseball Regional.

How it Happened
•  Johns Hopkins trailed 3-1 entering the bottom of the sixth, but an RBI-single from Austin Sacks and a James Ingram sacrifice fly knotted the game at 3-3 entering the seventh.
• The Cougars blew the game open with a five-spot in the top of the seventh with all five runs coming with two outs.  RBI-singles by Owen VanNewKirk and Derrick Vosburg and a three-run home run from catcher Joe Liscio were the big hits in the inning for Misericordia.  Liscio's home run came one hitter after the inning was extended by a Blue Jays error with the score 5-3.
• Junior AJ King got the Blue Jays one run closer in the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run to center field, but Hopkins would strand single runners in the seventh and eighth before Misericorida tacked on three insurance runs in the ninth to account for the final scoring.
• The Cougars got a run-scoring single, a run-scoring double and the final run on a ground out to account for their three-run ninth.
• A Matt Ritchie RBI-single gave the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third, but the Cougars answered right back with two in the fourth and one more in the fifth to grab the 3-1 lead after five.
• Sacks and Ingram answered with their run-producing at bats in the sixth, but Misericordia came right back with the decisive five-run seventh to put the game away.

Inside the Box Score
• Misericordia collected 16 hits, had a pair of batters hit by pitches and had at least one batter reach base in all but one inning.
• The bottom of the Cougar lineup did most of the damage in the win as the 6-through-9 hitters were a combined 11-of-19 with six runs scored and nine RBIs.
• Ritchie was a perfect 3-for-3 and King (2-for-4) and Jared deFaria (2-for-5) both added multi-hit games for the Blue Jays, who collected 13 hits on the day, but left 10 runners on base in the loss.
• deFaria has reached base safely in a team-best 12 consecutive games, while Dai Dai Otaka (8 games), King (7), Ritchie (7) and Ingram all extended their hitting streaks to at least seven games.
• Today's loss snapped an 11-game Blue Jay winning streak.
