2015 Outlook

The Green Terror has struggled in the win column recently but the fruits of experience gained could blossom in 2015 with 19 returning starters ... the offense can move the ball but needs to finish, while the defense needs to prove it can stop the opposition ... McDaniel most likely will not win a Centennial title this fall, but it will take the next steps to contention. Preseason Prediction: 10th

 


Head Coach Mike Hoyt

Hoyt (Canisius '92) was hired on Mar. 6, 2012 as the 24th head coach in the storied history of Green Terror football and roamed the sidelines in 2012 for the first time as a head coach ... Hoyt joined McDaniel after spending the previous eight seasons as the defensive coordinator at Albright, culminating with being a finalist for the American Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2011.

The Green Terror defense allowed over 400 yards per game for the fourth straight season and over 200 yards on the ground for the fifth time in seven campaigns ... senior Eddie Kendall and soph Andy Ullman anchor the front four ... both had two sacks and combined for 13 tackles for loss ... soph Drew Scott (64 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 4 INT), junior Matt Quattrone (55) and senior Brandon Jones (49) are experienced linebackers ... three seniors headline the secondary, including FS Luke Fernandez.

Senior Brett Haas averaged 37.5 yards per punt with 18 placed inside the 20, earning honorable mention All-CC honors ... soph Spencer Wiersberg was 4-of-4 on three-point tries and 20-of-22 on PATs.

 

Kenneth R. Gill Stadium

In its unique bowl setting, Kenneth R. Gill Stadium is the home of the Green Terror football, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's track and field teams. Sportexe Momemtum Turf was installed in 2004. Surrounding the field is an eight-lane track. Lights were added in 2010. A new 1,434-seat grandstand and stadium featuring press, coaches and VIP areas as well as a concession area and team rooms was constructed in 2012.
