Dickinson dropped its season-opener to Randolph-Macon. It was the first time the Devils have been shut out since the 2013 season finale. QB Billy Burger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) had his streak of 122 passes without an interception snapped in the game's first possession. He threw for 129 yards and ran for a team-high 31 more. WR Jake Walbert (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) caught four passes for 58 yards. James Ward (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) set a school career record with 1,404 kick return yards. DB Erik Dettloff (Fallston, MD/Fallston) had nine tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

F&M improved to 72-54-3 in season openers and 8-3 under coach John Troxell with a 30-6 win against Lebanon Valley. RB Taalib Gerald posted his sixth career 100-yard game with 135 on 19 carries and two scores. QB Tanner Erisman (Washington Boro, PA/Penn Manor) threw for 129 yards, including a 29-yard TD pass to WR Bobby Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy). The defense held LVC to just 205 total yards. DB Brendan Daly (Norfolk, MA/St. Sebastian's School) had a team-high seven tackles while DL Joe Granahan (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley) had six stops and two sacks.

Gettysburg spotted Bridgewater a 31-0 lead before battling back in a 38-22 loss. QB Danny Thompson (Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) got the start and totaled 138 yards of offense and scored a rushing TD. Justin Davidov (Ossining, NY/Ossining) came off the bench to complete 12-of-17 passes for 150 yards and a score, while also running for 97 yards and another TD. WR Ty Abdul-Karim (Washington, DC/Woodberry Forest, VA) was on the receiving end of the 35-yard scoring pass. LB Frank Olmo (Eatontown, NJ/Red Bank Regional) led the defense wih 15 tackles. The Bullets are now 76-41-7 in season openers.

Johns Hopkins jumped four spots to #1 in the D3football.com poll after a 45-29 win over #20 Washington and Lee. RB Ryan Cary (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) rushed for a career-high 158 yards and three TDs, while also adding three receptions for 69 yards and another score. The four TDs tie the JHU single-game record. TE Brett Caggiano (Willow Street, PA/Penn Manor) threw a 38-yard scoring pass to Cary. Hopkins amassed 500 yards of total offense and is now 40-1 all-time when reaching that total. DB Dan Johnson (Westminster, MD/Westminster) led the defense with a career-high 14 tackles. Hop is now 23-9 against ODAC teams under coach Jim Margraff.

Juniata improved to 11-0-1 against Grove City since 1950 with a 31-26 road victory. QB Hank Coyne (Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford) threw for 267 yards and a pair of touchdowns. RB David Vidovic (Hohenfels, Germany/Hohenfels) rushed 21 times for 80 yards and scored twice, while WR Kirby Breault (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) caught seven passes for 128 yards, including a 32-yard TD. He had 231 all-purpose yards on the day. DB Joel Reighard (Altoona, PA/Altoona) had a pair of picks, including one in the end zone with less than 10 seconds remaining. LB Jake Diviney (Altoona, PA/Altoona) led the defense with 13 stops. 

The Green Terror dropped a heart-breaking 28-21 decision in overtime at Catholic for its 20th straight defeat. QB Matty Callahan (Germantown, MD/Northwest) threw for 170 yards and a 12-yard TD pass to Tyler DeMent (Olney, MD/Northwest). RB John Chamberlin (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) rushed for a team-high 75 yards and a score. DB Keegan Romanoff (Hanover, PA/New Oxford) returned an interception 30 yards in the final period that gave McDaniel a 21-6 lead with 8:43 left. LB Tucker Evans (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) led the defense with eight tackles, while Ray Doh (Silver Spring, MD/Blake) had seven stops, a sack and a fumble recovery.

The Greyhounds rolled past King's, 50-35. QB Mike Hayes (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns. He needs 748 yards to become the fifth 'Hound to throw for 5,000 career yards. It is the first 300-yard passing effort by a Moravian QB since 2005. RB Chris Negron (Allentown, PA/Freedom) posted his 18th career 100-yard game with 116 on 25 carries. DL Jorden Stout (Berwick, PA/Berwick) scored on a 1-yard run for his third career goal line TD. PK Kenny Kane (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) became the first 'Hound to boot three FGs in a game since 2008, converting from 33, 25 and 21 yards. DE Chuka Onukwugha (Jamesburg, NY/Monroe Township) scooped up a fumble and returned it 77 yards for a touchdown.

Muhlenberg QB Nick Palladino (Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) added another record to his total in the Mules' 29-22 win at Wilkes. He threw for 284 yards and three TDs, giving him 65 scoring passes in his career to break the 16-year-old mark. WR Nick Lamb (Philadelphia, PA/Penn Charter) caught seven passes for 125 yards – his second straight 100-yard effort – while Ryan Delaney (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) grabbed 11 passes and scored twice. RB Nick Savant (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) rushed for 73 yards and caught a two-point conversion pass. DB John Feaster (Washington Twp., NJ/Bergen Catholic) had nine tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and also snared a two-point conversion pass. DB Amir Blair (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mountain West) had a career-high nine stops.  

The River Hawks gave back the Stagg Hat with a 27-24 loss at Lycoming. QB Matt Thies (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) threw for 196 yards and two TDs, while also running for a score. RB Luke Robertson (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren) led the ground game with 58 yards, while WR Chris Beals (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) snared four passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. DB C.J. Williams (Burlington, NJ/Perkiomen School, PA) led the defense with 10 tackles, including a sack, and LB Connor Thompson (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) added eight stops.

Ursinus started a freshman QB for the first time since 2005 and ended up on the short end of a 23-13 game at Bethany. Tom Garlick (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) completed 22-of-42 passes for 302 yards and a pair of scores, but also threw five interceptions. WR Carmen Fortino (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) grabbed seven balls for 161 yards, including an 85-yarder for a touchdown. WR Asa Manley (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) also grabbed a 29-yard scoring aerial. Freshman RB Stacey Gardner (North Hills, PA/Upper Dublin) also had an impressive debut with 17 carries for a game-high 105 yards. DT Charles Anderson (Upper Chichester, PA/Northeast) and DB Heath Hidlay (Lewistown, PA/Mifflin County) each had 12 tackles, while rookie DB Mitchell Bradford (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) had a pick.
